Jazz4Justice

Jazz4Justice® is an evening of jazz music played by a jazz ensemble from the Alexandria campus of Northern Virginia Community College. All proceeds support the Alexandria Bar Foundation, Legal Services of Northern Virginia, and NOVA Alexandria’s music scholarship fund.

About Jazz4Justice

Jazz4Justice is a non-profit organization that combines music and law to support local legal aid organizations. Founded in 2001 by Fairfax attorney Edward L. Weiner and jazz musician Mark Sylvester, Jazz4Justice hosts benefit concerts featuring local jazz musicians and legal professionals. The funds raised from these events go towards providing legal aid to low-income individuals who cannot afford an attorney.

Current Charity Initiatives

Over the years, Jazz4Justice has expanded to include partnerships with universities, law schools, and other organizations across the country, hosting events that not only raise funds but also provide opportunities for law students and musicians to collaborate and network. The organization has raised over $1.5 million for legal aid and has helped provide access to justice for thousands of people in need.

Charity for Legal Assistance and Equal Access to Justice

Jazz4Justice's mission is to not only support legal aid organizations but also to raise awareness of the importance of equal access to justice for all individuals, regardless of their financial situation. Through music and community partnerships, Jazz4Justice continues to make a difference in the lives of those who need legal assistance but cannot afford it.
